All car seats rated by NHTSA meet Federal Safety Standards & strict crash performance standards. While all rated seats are safe, they do differ in their ease of use in four basic catagories:

Evaluation of Labels 2 stars
There is not a picture of a child properly restrained in the CRS directly next to sizing information on the labeling. No supplemental sizing information is given on the labels. The tether is not labeled in the illustrations depicting acceptable modes of installation. Labels do not explain how to use LATCH or top tether.
Evaluation of Instructions 5 stars
The instruction manual storage location may be difficult to find. Supplemental sizing information is given in text only in the manual.
Securing the Child 4 stars
The harness clip is not labeled with placement instructions. The harness must be taken out and rethreaded when cleaning the restraint, and loose parts may be generated during the process.
Installation Features 5 stars
The child restraint is equipped with push-button LATCH attachments.
