At this day-long meeting, NHTSA will be exploring the risk factors associated with pupil transportation and will be working toward potential solutions to prevent school-transportation-related serious injuries and fatalities. School transportation safety professionals and NHTSA safety experts will come together to discuss trends in school-transportation-related crashes and innovations in school bus safety technologies, along with a discussion of current NHTSA projects involving pupil transportation. Millions of school-age children ride school buses every day in the United States, and school buses continue to be the safest way for kids to get to and from school.
